Charles Stewart has been chasing songs and stages since his teens. He got his start with Tea Maker’s Union before co-founding Woodhead Green at just 14. By the late ’70s, he was performing solo sets and opening for bigger names, building the foundation for a career that’s always been rooted in live performance.

In 1982, Charles followed the music to Dallas with encouragement from friends Jim and Colleen Miller. There he formed bands like True Colors and Twist of Fate, the latter eventually signing with Dragon Street Records. Along the way, he wrote jingles, contributed to Chuck E. Cheese’s music, and landed a publishing deal with Sony. He also collaborated with the late Kenny Cordray, a partnership that stretched across several projects.

In 2021, Charles and original member Ross Jackson brought Woodhead Green back to life, carrying the spirit of their early band into a new era.
